Grand Labrador Circle Tour
15 Days / 14 Nights
Prepare yourself for an once-in-a-lifetime
experience. This tour is not your average vacation…it’s
a great adventure. The landscape of Labrador was been
shaped over millions of years by glaciers, erosion,
natures upheaval, providing us the opportunity view
the earth the way it may have looked millions of years
ago. It has also left Labrador with vast amounts of
natural resources that are being mined and harnessed.
Labrador City is home to one of the largest iron ore
deposits in North America. Churchill Falls is the location
of one of the largest hydro electric generating stations
in the world. And Goose Bay is home of the largest military
air bases in Eastern Canada. Wildlife abounds in this
area. Labrador is home to the largest caribou heard
in the world, over 700,000. You will see a 7,500 year
old Maritime Archaic Indian burial site, the oldest
in North America. After crossing the Strait of Belle
Isle, to Newfoundland you will travel to Gros Morne
National Park. A UNESCO World Heritage Site for its
unique geology and stunning views. This is only a sample
of what you will see on this tour.
This tour originates in Halifax,
Nova Scotia. Upon flying into Halifax you will enjoy
a tour of the city and picturesque Peggy’s Cove.
Next it is off to Northern New Brunswick for an overnight
stay before travelling across the St. Lawrence River
to Baie-Comeau, Quebec. After overnighting in Baie-Comeau
you begin to travel north into the interior of Canada.
After crossing Labrador you will take the ferry across
to Newfoundland. From Newfoundland you will take another
ferry back to Nova Scotia.
